Noise Restrictions

As mentioned in the notes for Round Four at Lakeside, there is a 95dba (trackside) limitation at the circuit, due to council regulations.

For some background on the limitation, check out the original notice posted by Lakeside management when the circuit was reopened.

From all reports, the noise limitation is achievable for most cars without too much difficulty.

See below for the approach taken by iRacer Sam Dale:

I have purchased a "Hushpower" muffler from Rocket Industries. The muffler features some internal cones and structure to help reduce noise, with minimum impact on power.

I am yet to test the new muffler, but I'm hopeful it will be an improvement over the straight-through muffler I normally use, and keep my car below the 95db limit.
